The Most Important Cause for The Fall of Rome
There are endless opinions on the why Rome fell and what is the most important cause. They include cultural changes, economic decline, political corruption, disease, population losses and decline in military just to name a few. If one thinks about how many centuries the Roman Empire spanned and the number of cultures it included, it seems like all these issues were part of the empire at various points in time. The most important cause in the downfall is that none of the issues were addressed by strong leaders to stop the gradual decline and weakening that left it vulnerable. Invaders and war was nothing new to Rome. It fell because it had become so weakened it could not defeat the enemy.
Persian and Roman Collapse Similarities
A couple of similarities between the Roman Empire and the Persian Empire were that both had huge empires that could not be controlled by a central authority. They were divided into smaller providences, each managed by a governor. Both empires had similar attitudes to their populations. Both empires allowed people to continue to live as they had done before they were part of the empire, as long as they did not cause trouble and paid their taxes. Both empires had a supreme leader or emperor.
